Dismissed PNP chief Purisima arrested at Naia-3

(Updated) Dismissed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Alan Purisima was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal-3 on Friday afternoon upon his arrival from Butuan City.

The arrest warrant was served by the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

“CIDG personnel carried out arrest, he will be brought to Sandiganbayan from airport,” said CIDG director Victor Deona.

On Thursday, Purisima and ten others were ordered arrested by the Sandiganbayan over a questionable contract with a startup after finding probable cause to proceed with their trial for graft.
