Following the lead of Liberal Party standard-bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, his running mate Camarines Sur Representative Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo has waived her bank secrecy rights, authorizing the Office of the Ombudsman and the Bureau of Internal Revenue to scrutinize all her financial records.

Robredo’s move came after Roxas signed in front of the media on Thursday a notarized affidavit of transparency and urged other national candidates to follow his lead.

Duterte earlier denied owning the Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI) account in 2014, saying it was “fabricated and non-existent.”
On the same day Roxas proved the existence of Duterte’s account, the mayor admitted its existence but, contrary to the claims of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV that the account contained P211 million, Duterte said his bank accounts only have about P50,000 and P17,500.
