Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales on Wednesday said she has a “reliable source” to prove that Vice President Jejomar Binay pressured the Commission on Audit (COA) to delay the release of its special audit report on the controversial Makati City Parking Building II.

The camp of Binay has earlier accused Morales of pressuring the COA to release its special audit report to derail the presidential bid of the vice president.

Morales hit back saying Binay’s claim was “a lie,” adding that it was Binay who pleaded to a COA official to delay the release of the audit report until after the elections.

Binay’s camp has also accused Morales of leaking the COA report to the media.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Morales denied that she leaked the COA report to the media to discredit the Vice President.

“I deny even under oath, having leaked that. Why don’t you ask the COA kung kanino nila binigay ang yun. Binigay ba nila sa akin?” she said.

“I learned it from a reliable source,” she said.

“If the Vice President denies under oath publicly that I was the one responsible for pressuring, if he denies his statement that I was the one pressuring COA, then I will tell you my source,” she added. TVJ
