Marcos on latest SWS results: We will continue to work hard
Vice presidential candidate Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was encouraged with the latest pre-election survey results conducted by the Social Weather Stations, saying that this meant that he will work harder for people to trust his platform of unity.
“Every survey result keeps us inspired to work harder in the campaign. But as I have always said, the real survey will be on May 9 and that has been our focus as we continue to persevere in bringing our platform of unity to every part of the country,” he said in a statement.
The son and namesake of the late dictator kicked off his campaign with running mate Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago in his hometown in Ilocos Norte last week.
He toured the whole Ilocos region without his running mate for the rest of the week.
Santiago, meanwhile, is doing poorly in surveys with a single digit rating.
For the first time since the election surveys were conducted in September, Marcos topped the latest results of the SWS poll.
Article continues after this advertisementHe shared the top spot with vice presidential contender Senator Francis Escudero, who has consistently topped the previous surveys.
In the survey conducted from Feb. 5 to 7, Marcos tied with Escudero at 26 percent and has improved by one percentage point since last month.
