Meralco driver dead as vehicle plunges into Pasig River
The driver of a vehicle of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) drowned on Saturday morning after his service car plunged into the Pasig River, radio DZMM reported.
Citing barangay captain Rey Novela, the report said the 27-year-old Jose Mari del Rosario supposedly lost control of the vehicle after being seen speeding along J.P. Rizal Street in Guadalupe in Makati City.
The car reportedly sank within three minutes after plunging into the river.
The Philippine Coast Guard found Del Rosario’s body strapped in his seat, while passenger Robert Rullera was rescued after being able to escape from the vehicle.
The report said the Meralco service car was heading back to their Pasig office from Paco, Manila. YG
