/ 12:47 PM October 05, 2015

Secretary Leila de Lima will step down as head of the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Oct. 12 in preparation for her Senate bid in 2016.

She confirmed this through a text message to reporters on Monday.

Last week, de Lima said that Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas confirmed to her that she will be part of the administration party’s senatorial line up. She said she has to wait for the official announcement though.
The LP will announce its senatorial line up on Friday.
