Kin of slain SAF man asks Roxas: ‘Who’s responsible, where is justice?’
BAGUIO CITY–Like other families of fallen Special Action Force commandos, the kin of Police Officer 2 Walner Danao are clueless as to who is responsible for the Maguindanao carnage.
As various agencies form investigation bodies and fact-finding committees to look into the incident that claimed the lives of 44 elite cops, families left behind are waiting for answers.
”Who’s the one responsible and where is the real justice?” asked Constancio Danao, uncle of PO2 Danao, who was among the 44 cops who died in the Mamasapano, Maguindanao encounter on January 25.
“We don’t want this to happen again. Tama na ‘yang nangyari na sa amin (What happened to us should be the end of it),” he told reporters after he and Walner’s immediate family met with Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II Monday.
Walner’s uncle faced the media as his wife, Emeliza, and mother, Julie, refused to speak to the press after they broke down when Roxas talked to them.

Also like dozens of aggrieved families of the 44 men, Constancio supports “all-out war” against the insurgents in Mindanao whom the policemen encountered in the bloody gun battle.
“I told Secretary Roxas I’d go for all-out war. Maraming pamilyang gusto ng ganito (There are many families who prefer that),” he said.
When asked if he was convinced that the government is capable of serving justice to the fallen men, Constancio hesitated to respond to the question.
But he gave a safe answer and said: “parang kumbaga sa percentage, 40-60 (If it were in percentage, it would be 40-60).”
Walner turned 34 on January 16, just few days before the day of his death. He and Emeliza have one daughter.
