LPA outside of PAR may become cyclone, Pagasa says

MANILA, Philippines–A low pressure area (LPA) monitored outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) may become a tropical depression as it continues to gain strength, the weather bureau said.
Alexis Cada, weather forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), said Wednesday that the LPA was spotted 1,020 kilometers east of Northern Mindanao at 10 a.m. could become Tropical Depression “Karding” and could enter the (PAR) Wednesday if it continues its westward motion.
“There’s a possibility that the LPA could become a cyclone as it gains momentum before entering the PAR,” Cada said.
He added that the LPA’s movement could still change and move northward and enter the PAR Thursday.
Also, the LPA spotted at 280 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora would continue to bring light to moderate rains over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bicol and Visayas.
