Catapang named new AFP chief
MANILA, Philippines – Military vice chief Lieutenant General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. has been named as the next Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
He will replace General Emmanuel Bautista, who will bow out of service on Friday, July 18.
President Benigno Aquino III will lead the change of command ceremony at Camp Aguinaldo, a statement from the AFP said.
