Fire engulfs apartments in Sampaloc
MANILA, Philippines–At least 10 families were left homeless after a fire had swept through a stretch of houses in Sampaloc, Manila on Easter Sunday.
A Manila Fire Department official said in a phone interview with Inquirer.net that the fire engulfed four residential apartments along P. Campa Street near España Boulevard.
The fire that reached fifth alarm started at 3:03 a.m. and was put out an hour after, at 4:10 a.m. before dawn Sunday.
The four two-storey apartments were reportedly made of light materials, which caused the fire to spread quickly.
Nobody was reported injured in the incident.
Authorities estimated the worth of damages at P2 million.
