PNP offers various one-stop-shop police services in metro malls

MANILA, Philippines—From renewal of firearms license to cadetship application, Philippine National Police will offer its front line services for three days in Metro Manila malls.

Aiming to ease public’s transaction with PNP, the Police Community Relations Group will launch a three-day “one-stop shop,” to provide assistance for various concerns.

The program, which is a part of PNP’s 23rd founding anniversary, targets to render “fast, efficient, convenient, reliable services minus the unnecessary voluminous documents.”

FEATURED STORIES

The following police units will offer services in the PNP booths.

Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) – recruitment of uniformed and non-uniformed personnel

Directorate for Intelligence (DI) – DI clearance

Highway Patrol Group (HPG) – motor vehicle clearance

Crime Laboratory Group (CLG) – forensic laboratory service

Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) – firearms renewal and licensing,
issuance of Permit To Carry Firearms Outside Residence

Police Community Relations Group (PCRG) – complaint and referral desk

Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) – Cadet and Cadette admission

Schedule for the services will start on Wednesday at Trinoma mall in Quezon City. Second day will be on January 24, Friday at Ever Gotesco mall in Commonwealth, Quezon City and last day will be on January 26, Sunday at Farmers Plaza in Cubao, Quezon City.

Police Chief Superintendent Sonny David, PCRG Director, said the services provided by the PNP personnel will only require “ministerial actions and fast track transactions for the citizens.”

“It is also promoting transparency with regard to the manner of transacting with the public,” he added.

The PNP FEO will start enforcing this month the Implementing Rules and Regulation of RA 10591, or the comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition, following its release on January 3.

Under the IRR, a six-month amnesty for loose firearms holders will be implemented to allow the gun owners to either renew their expired license or register their unlicensed guns avoiding stiffer penalties
