Thieves break into cop’s house
MANILA, Philippines—Burglars struck at the house of a policeman in Quezon City over the weekend and stole P21,000 in cash and other valuables as well as a gun.
Police Officer 3 Dexter Baloran, 32, was out of the house with his live-in partner when the thieves broke into the house. Stolen were a Pietro Beretta 9 mm pistol, a Samsung Galaxy Y cell phone worth P5,000, a Samsung Galaxy S4 worth P8,000, and P8,000 in cash.
Case investigator PO3 Gilmer Marinas said the break-in happened at Baloran’s house on Goldenshower Street in Barangay (village) Payatas after the couple left their house at around 9 p.m. Sunday to attend a vigil at the Three Lights Funeral Chapel in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
The house was left locked and unattended overnight, Marinas said.
The couple came home at 6 a.m. the following day and found a window broken and the house in disarray.
