Mandaue barangay wins search
Barangay Banilad has the best peace and order committee among the barangays in Mandaue City.
This was learned during the awarding ceremony in the search for the Most Outstanding Barangay Peace and Order Committee 2013 held last week at the Mandaue City Hall where barangay Banilad emerged in first place.
Barangay captain Dianne Bercede Abanes felt very proud for achieving the award for the first time since she became the barangay’s chairman.
Abanes credited their documentation and effective implementation of monitoring and patrolling in the barangay level for copping the award.
Barangay Banilad took the honor from barangay Ibabao-Estancia, winner of the search for the last two years.
Pakna-an headed by barangay captain Malaquias Soco grabbed second honors, while barangay Ibabao-Estancia represented by barangay captain Carmelino del Mar settled for third.

Barangay Banilad received P50,000 cash, barangay Pakna-an took P40,000 and barangay Ibabao-Estancia brought home P30,000 cash.
