Bradford church celebrates 100 years
A CHURCH built along former Calle Juan Luna (now Osmeña Boulevard) in 1912 will celebrate its centenary today, Oct. 26.
A run for a cause, dubbed “Bradford Centennial Run” is set today at 4 a.m. to raise funds for their chapel’s restoration.
It will be followed by the unveiling of the historical marker at 10 a.m. with Loduvico Badoy, the executive secretary of the National Historical Commission.
Sen. Teofisto Guingona III will address the congregation as guest of honor. Some government officials like Gov. Hilario Davide III, Mayor Michael Rama, Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella, the chair of the Committee on Tourism Cultural Heritage and International Affairs, will also grace the occasion.
Some leaders of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines headed by its General Secretary, Bishop Reuel Norman Marigsa, will also attend this historic event.
Rev. Haniel Joses T. Taganas, Administrative Pastor of UCCP – Bradford, said that Bradford Memorial Church will soon be open daily for meditation and prayers to anyone regardless of religious or faith affiliation.
