Servania’s foe to arrive this weekend
Former WBA super flyweight champion Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion and his team are expected to arrive in Cebu this weekend or on Monday for his fight against reigning WBO Asia Pacific Super bantamweight champion Genesis “Azukal” Servania in the main event of Pinoy Pride XXII: The Revenge on Oct. 26 at the Pacific Grand Ball Room of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
This was announced by ALA Promotions President and COO Michael Aldeguer who revealed that it was Concepcion’s camp who requested that they be allowed to come early apparently to acclimatize.
Servania, of the famed ALA Boxing Gym and Concepcion will battle for 12 rounds with the WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight belt put on the line.
Meanwhile, Servania along with stablemates, “King” Arthur Villanueva (23-0, 13KOs), Roli “Zuma” Gasca, Mark Bernaldez and Jessel Magsayo will have a public preview at the ALA Fitness Boxing Gym in Banawa’s Paseo de San Ramon on Oct. 15 and will appear in a series of public workouts in SM City Cebu on Oct. 19 and in SM Consolacion on Oct. 20.
The unbeaten Villanueva will fight world-title challenger Jose “Matador” Cabrera (22-3-2, 10KOs) from Mexico for the WBO International super flyweight title in the co-main event while Gasca (20-4-1, 5KOs), will face Indonesian Lande Olin for 10-rounds in the undercard.
The other undercard bouts will have Bernaldez battling Khunkiri Wor Wisaruth of Thailand for 10-rounds and Magsayo (3-0, 2KOs) going up against Hagibis Quiñones of General Santos City for four rounds.
