THIS year, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is looking for a few good men to beef up its strength.

NCRPO chief Director Nicanor Bartolome yesterday said that they had been given the go-signal to recruit 1,630 new policemen from the initial figure of 1,120.

“The increase will be a big help in our deployment here in Metro Manila because our districts here lack the personnel to patrol the streets,” he told the Inquirer over the phone.

He added that screening teams had begun evaluating applications and those found to be qualified would undergo tests on physical and mental fitness.

Those interested in applying should have the necessary eligibility requirements from either the National Police Commission, Professional Regulation Commission or the Civil Service Commission. They should also be of good standing, without any police record and must not have been convicted of any crime.
