Driver stabbed to death
A 33-YEAR-OLD driver was stabbed to death by a still-unidentified assailant in barangay Tisa, Cebu City.
Jonnyl Ouamot suffered stab wounds in the forehead, left eye, chest and back.
Alma Duarte, a resident of sitio Mutra, told police investigators that she saw a man chasing Ouamot at 2:45 a.m. yesterday in front of their house.
Ouamot was later found lifeless along the road.

Article continues after this advertisementA 49-YEAR-OLD farmer allegedly committed suicide after an argument with his wife in Alcoy town, southern Cebu last Saturday afternoon.
Jesus Morales was found in a grassy area in sitio Liptong, barangay Nug-as with a slash wound in the left wrist.
Another farmer, Hermogenes Pelare, was grazing his cow at around 4:30 p.m. when he found the body.
Police said Morales and his wife, Sergia, had been arguing for days because of jealousy.
Sergia told police that her husband had previously attempted to end his life by drinking pesticide. She declined to have her husband’s body autopsied. /CORRESPONDENT CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON
MAN NABBED IN SNATCHING INCIDENT
A CITIZEN’S arrest was effected on a man following a snatching incident in barangay Zapatera, Cebu City yesterday afternoon.
Domingo Lauron was arrested by Gerard John Joaquino at 12 p.m. after he allegedly snatched Joaquino’s gold necklace worth P100,000.
Joaquino chased Lauron and was able to seek help from Sta. Cruz barangay captain Jerome Lim and SPO3 Jeffrey Diola who were near the area.
Lauron resisted arrest but Joaquino managed to wrestle his nine-inch long improvised icepick from him.
