The West reigned supreme in the 2013 Cesafi All Star weekend as the juniors and seniors squads emerged victorious over their East opponents yesterday at the Cebu Coliseum.

Manned by stalwarts of the defending champions Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras, the West won handily, 87-80, over the East in seniors play. Their junior counterparts also pulled off a 104-82 rout over the East to complete the sweep.

SWU’s prized guard Mark Jayven Tallo claimed seniors MVP plum as he led the West’s balanced attack with 12 points, which included a three-pointer and a lay-up late in the game that clinched the win.

Cobras imports Landry Sanjo and the hulking Fabrice Siewe dominated down low as they combined for 42 points—22 from the former and 20 from the latter.

The East was paced by the 15 of Cebu Institute of Technology-University’s (CIT-U) Floyd Taboada.

Taboada scored 11 in a sizzling third period performance that put the East in front, 46-45. But the West came alive behind Sanjo, who fired in 10 in that very same stretch, capped off by an uncharacteristic three-pointer that gave the West a 66-61 lead going to the fourth period.
