Habal driver gunned down

A 32-YEAR-OLD habal-habal driver was shot dead by  motorcycle-riding assailants in barangay Poblacion Ward 1, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu last Friday evening.

Roldan Caparas was shot in the head. He was declared dead when he was brought to the Minglanilla District Hospital.

PO1 Wilmer Campo, desk officer of Minglanilla Police Sation, said the victim had just parked in an area where habal-habal drivers wait for passengers when two men on a motorcycle arrived and started firing.

Fisherman found dead

A 62-YEAR-OLD fisherman was found hanging by the neck in his house in barangay Tulay, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Police said Jose Renegado had been from suffering from diabetes.

The ailment may have pushed the man to commit suicide, police said.

Renegado lived alone in his house after he and his wife separated.
