On Thursday afternoon, Judge Elmo Alameda of Makati regional trial court branch 150 issued a commitment order to have Napoles put under the custody of the city jail and Criminal Investigation Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Chief Roberto Fajardo jr. said the police were complying with the judge’s decision.

The purported mastermind behind the alleged misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) orchestrated with top government officials surrendered herself Wednesday night to President Benigno Aquino III for “fear of her life.”

Napoles and her brother Reynald “Jojo” Lim were served arrest warrants last week for serious illegal detention of whistle-blower and cousin Benhur K. Luy.

The Palace and CIDG said Lim may voluntarily surrender before the authorities, according to Napoles herself.

Meanwhile, Makati RTC branch clerk Diosfa Valencia said that the Napoles camp could not file a petition for bail unless the Court of Appeals approved their pending petition for certiorari questioning the order of the Makati court to issue warrants of arrest against Napoles and Lim.
