Napoles to be transferred to Makati City Jail

MANILA, Philippines— Janet Lim Napoles, the alleged brains behind the pork barrel scam, will be transferred to Makati City Jail, police announced late Thursday.
Philippine National Police spokesperson Senior Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac said the transfer was a little delayed as traffic conditions were considered.
“Traffic was also considered. If it was daytime, she might get stuck in traffic,” he told reporters.
Napoles also underwent check up before she would leave Camp Crame, where she was detained.
Sindac said Napoles was “calm” and “okay.”
Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, meanwhile, said she would be given a medical check-up before she leaves and once she arrives.
Napoles left Camp Crame at about 11:10 p.m., but used the side exit of the National Headquarters Bldg instead of the main entrance.
She was aboard a PNP coaster, according to Sindac, and was accompanied by at least 10 convoys including a pickup truck with Special Action Force personnel, police cars and unmarked vehicles.
In Makati City Jail, she would be given a 24/7 visual security by SAF.
Roxas said they were able to settle a room for Napoles.
“Kanina pa na-resolve yun. Di naman kelangan isang buwan, isang taon ang interior decoration kasi sumusunod tayo sa utos ng korte,” he said.
Police chief Director General Alan Purisima said “appropriate security” was given to Napoles, to be able to keep their word that her safety will be ensured.
