AROUND a hundred wood pushers representing different towns and municipalities of the Province of Cebu will compete in the Panlalawigang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan (PPSK) Inter-Town Chess Team Championship today at the Cebu Provincial Capitol compound.

The tournament is a team event with each team composed of four players. Two of them should be from the elementary division while the other two should be from high school or college but not more than 18 years old.

PPSK president/Ex-Officio Board Member Aladin Wilyamie Caminero said the event aims to help develop the game of chess, promote camaraderie among chess players within the province and help the youth in their fight against drug abuse.

Cash prizes, trophies and medals will be given to the winning teams and individuals. /Correspondent Dale Rosal
