SMB teams to revamp coaching staff rosters

THE coaching carousel for the San Miguel Corporation squads has started after reports has it that University of the East head coach Boysie Zamar is set to come on as assistant coach while Juno Sauler and Allan Caidic step down from their positions as assistants to focus on their task at the La Salle Green Archers camp.

According to a report that was posted on Spin.ph, Zamar, who has seen his stock rise after guiding the Red Warriors to the Filoil Flying V Hanes Preseason Cup title, will be joining the staff of Alfrancis Chua.

Meanwhile, Sauler, who was tasked to replace Gee Abanilla as head coach over at DLSU, will be joined full-time there by Caidic, now an assistant after coming on as a shooting coach.

The Kings are set to fill in other vacant positions on their staff in what could be the start of a massive reorganization that will also affect both San Mig Coffee and Petron.

Though no official announcement has been made, recent reports have Abanilla taking over the head coaching position at Petron, thus sending Olsen Racela to San Mig Coffee as assistant to head coach Tim Cone.

Petron is also in the midst of negotiating a deal with former Indonesia Warriors head coach Todd Purves, who is set to be an active consultant for Abanilla.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
