Hooded men rob pawnshop

AT LEAST P50,000 cash was taken when two bonnet-wearing men robbed a pawnshop in barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, southern Cebu yesterday afternoon.

Marvin Mark Rombo, teller of M. Lhuillier Pawnshop in sitio Kimba, said he was forced to hand over the money after one of the robbers pointed a gun at him.

The robber fled on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice, said SPO1 Mikie Espina of Talisay City Police Office.

Espina said the pawnshop’s security was lax since it didn’t have a security guard.

The pawnshop also had no security cameras.

Espina said police conducted a follow-up operation but failed to locate the culprits./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
