MAN HURT IN OSLOB ROAD MISHAP

A MAN was critically wounded after the motorcycle he was driving rammed a tricycle along a national highway in barangay Lagundi, Oslob town, southern Cebu.

Jeffrey Caldeno, 30, sustained injuries in the head and body. He was taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City

The accident happened past 7 a.m. yesterday.

The tricycle driver, Estelito Soriano, 53, sustained bruises.

Police said the vehicles were traveling in the same direction when Caldeno tried to overtake the tricycle.

PO3 Nelson Saquibal, investigator of Oslob police, said Caldeno lost control of the motorcycle when he tried to avoid a vehicle on the opposite lane, causing him to hit the tricycle.

TEEN FOUND HANGING DEAD

AN 18-YEAR-OLD man was found hanging dead in his house in barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City.

Kurt Cobin Ang had a nylon rope tied around his neck when he was found by his mother in his room around 7 a.m. yesterday.

The mother told police that she was not aware if her son was hounded by personal problems. She said her son had tried to commit suicide several times.

Police found no external injuries that may suggest that there was a foul play invovled in the death.

Man stabbed dead in Lapu-Lapu disco

A 26-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed dead while attending a benefit dance in barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City Tuesday night.

Wilard Igot succumbed to a stab wound in the chest.

Police said the suspect, Julius Gecolcol, used a gaff in stabbing the victim.

Gecolcol fled after the attack before he was arrested near his house yesterday afternoon.

Police said the victim was with his wife in a disco.

Police said the victim was standing near the entrance of the disco when he was attacked.

The victim was brought by his wife to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital but did not make it alive.

The suspect admitted to the police that he and the victim had personal grudges over money.
