Man gunned down in Lapu-Lapu

A MAN was fatally shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman in barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City last Friday evening.

Ronilo Malingin, a resident of barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu, sustained gunshot wounds in the back, at the right portion of his chest and one in the neck resulting in his immediate death.

Police said Malingin was hanging out at a shanty near the road when the assailant got off his motorcycle, approached and talked to him.

Witnesses heard six gunshots afterwards.

They said they could identify the assailant and the motorcycle he used since they were located a few meters away.

Due to lack of information, police were unable to locate the assailant.

The victim’s uncle said he doesn’t know of any trouble or illegal activities the victim was involved in since he just showed up in their place after he left their house for several months./Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
