SIA LEADS ARGENTINA
BIG MAN SAMMY Sia had a fine showing with 18 points and seven boards as the Argentina Corned Beef ’84/87/90 beat First ACY Shipping 2006, 50-42, in the Cebu Eastern Collee Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Thursday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Class 2006 actually controlled the lead for most of the game until Argentina surged ahead in the fourth period with an 18-4 rally. Paul Michael Cabellon added 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Frederick Chua and Henrich Chua connived for only 11 points, but combined for 13 rebounds, six assists and two steals for just its fourth win in 10 games. Class 2006 fell to 2012.
In the other game, Joseph Baluyos, Jr. had 20 points, three steals, two rebounds and two assists, while Harold James Tan added 14 markers in top of a dozen rebounds as Fil-Ann 2009 slammed PTT 2005, 52-44, for its only third victory in 13 games.
