USC bows to Adamson in Shakey’s V-League

THE University of San Carlos (USC) Lady Warriors put up a gallant stand but eventually fell to the two-time champions Adamson Lady Falcons in straight sets, 13-25, 22-25, 21-25, in their opening game in the Shakey’s V-League yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.

Pau Soriano dominated the debuting squad from Cebu with 13 attacks and four blocks while Angela Benting added six kills to complete the sweep and the win.

Reinforcement Mylene Paat blocked three USC attacks as the Lady Falcons served notice of their bid for a third championship.

Chona Gesulga scored 10 kills for USC, which also drew a combined 15-point output from Suzette Panis and guest player Ma. Abigail Praca from the University of San Jose-Recoletos./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
