Class 2003 rips Batch 2004
DIMSUM Frito 2003 banked on a singular offensive outburst by Joey Catipay in trouncing Best World Lifestyle 2004, 69-48 in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Thursday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Catipay scored 22 of their 24 points in the first period to tow them to a 24-16 lead, an advantage that they would never relinquish en route to getting their fifth win in six games. Catipay ended with 33 points.
Dannel Greg Hayag was the lone double-digit scorer with 14 points on top of four rebounds and two assists for Class 2004, which fell to 2-3 (win-loss).
In the other game, Mark Eugene Bukiron fired 38 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists as Jepoy ’99 whipped PTT 2005, 71-59, to notch its fifth win in eight starts. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
