DBTC, CIS make Aboitiz Football Cup semifinals

/ 06:34 AM February 24, 2013

BOTH Don Bosco and Cebu International School (CIS) will advance to the semifinals in the Boys 17 category of the 15th Aboitiz Football Cup after playing to a 1-all draw in their final elimination match yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

By settling for a draw, both teams successfully eliminated Abellana National School (ANS), which would have finished as the second best team in the category.

All three teams had six points and the winner between the Don Bosco-CIS match would have advanced with nine points since wins were equivalent to three points. ANS would have taken the final spot if that happened as it has a better goal difference of 27 points over both teams.
