MANILA, Philippines -The president of the controversial Aman Futures Group and his wife asked the Supreme Court to transfer the venue of their syndicated estafa case from Pagadian City to any court in Manila for fear of their safety.

“There is imminent danger against the lives and limbs of all accused, specifically Fernando R. Luna and Nimfa C. Luna, Petitioner Fernando R. Luna, who [were] manipulated by accused Manuel K. Amalilio to become the president of the corporations that operated the investment business in the country has been the primary target of the investors and sub-investors,” the petition filed by the Luna couple said.

Petitioners said the house of Fernando Luna’s parents were burned by disgruntled investors while the couple’s house was looted.

They added that they have also received reports of plans to liquidate them and abduct their children.

“There are reports, monitored by government operatives, that some investors and sub-investors are taking chances to liquidate the Luna couple or to kidnap their children for ransom,” the petition stated.

They added that the detention facility in Pagadian, where they will be transferred if the trial in that court will push through is not safe since some prisoners are relatives of disgruntled investors.
