THE developer of Monterrazas de Cebu has already started desilting its sedimentation ponds so that it can hold more rainwater and prevent this from overflowing into residential areas below the development site.

“Close monitoring gyud ni atong gi buhat nila kay naa na sad raba kunoy lain bagyo,” Gacasan told Cebu Daily News.

Gacasan said that the three families who lost their homes to flooding continued to occupy the Guadalupe barangay hall.

He accompanied them yesterday to check on a relocation site in sitio Mahayahay where Genvi Development wanted them to relocate.

The site at the back of the Genvi office at the entrance of the Monterrazas de Cebu project site was elevated and safe for occupancy, said Gacasan.

“Ang ato na lang ani, mo hangyo ta ug financial assistance sa Monterrazas aron sa pag tukod balik sa ilang kabalayan,” said Gacasan.

However, he said that a week since the massive flooding, Genvi Development is yet to release any form of assistance to the affected families.
