Garcia described the theme for the 442nd anniversary as a reechoing of President Benigno Aquino III’s slogan of “daan matuwid (the right path).”
The province’s anniversary theme is “Sugbo: Nagasubay sa Tukmang Dalan” (Cebu: Following the right path).
“Nagasubay na ta tukma. The straight path may not be always the right path. What is important is you are following the right path and making the right decision,” she said.
The province is also expecting more than 300 nationwide delegates of the MICE (Meetings Incentive Conference Exhibit) Conference to attend the event, which is one of the province’s anniversary activities.
The anniversary celebration’s month-long activities will open on Aug. 1 at the Capitol grounds, which will be attended by the town mayors.
