How to claim P100k in Makati? Just live to 100
There are a hundred thousand reasons why it’s more fun to grow old in Makati City.
Senior citizens covered by the Blu Card program of Makati’s social welfare department may receive a “cash incentive” of P100,000 each if they have turned 100 years old in 2012.
And even if they passed away after turning 100 this year, their heirs can still claim the money allotted under the recently enacted City Ordinance No. 2012-099.
“We deeply cherish and value our senior citizens. We owe them so much for the progress and development that Makati has achieved thus far, and so we continue to think of ways to show our sincere gratitude and great respect for them,” Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. said in a statement on Thursday.
Beneficiaries of the centenarian cash incentive should be a Filipino citizen and a Makati resident, must have reached 100 years old within the period from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2012, and must be a Blu card and White Card holder for at least five years.
They only need to present these cards and the original copy of their birth or marriage certificate to receive the cash gift.
