Police to monitor sale of imported firecrackers

POLICE assured local firecracker dealers that they will strictly monitor the sale of imported firecrackers and  pyrotechnic devices.

Section 6 of the Republic Act. 7183 – An Act Regulating the Sale Manufacturer and Other Pyrotechnic Devices states that “only duly licensed manufacturers shall be allowed to import chemicals or explosive ingredients used in the manufacture of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.”

Supt. Rex Derilo, chief of the Firearms Explosives Security Agencies and Guards Supervisory Section (FESAGSS), said they will confiscate all Chinese-made firecrackers.

In yesterday’s Talakayin sa Isyung Pulis (TSIP), Derilo said there are eight firecracker manufacturers in Central Visayas seven in Lapu-Lapu City and one in Bohol.

There are 17 dealers in Central Visayas, ninefrom Lapu-Lapu, five in Negros Oriental, two in Cebu City and one in Mandaue and Bohol, Derilo said.
