Bulacan exec ambushed, hurt

BULACAN—A provincial board member was wounded when armed men shot him along Plaridel Bypass Road here on Friday, police said.

Senior Supt. Noli Pacheco, deputy provincial police director for operations, said Board Member Mark Cholo Violago, head of the Association of Barangay Captains’ federation in Bulacan, was taken to a hospital in Metro Manila after a bullet hit him in the head.

Pacheco said Violago, son of San Rafael Vice Mayor Cipriano Violago, was attacked by a group of armed on a separate vehicle while he and his aides were heading to the North Luzon Expressway on their way to Metro Manila at 12:30 p.m. Carmela Reyes-Estrope, Inquirer Central Luzon
