Did you know: Villamor Air Base

The headquarters of the Philippine Air Force, the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, was named after the late multi-decorated aviator and World War II hero, Jesus Villamor. Born on Nov. 7, 1914, he served as director of the Bureau of Aeronautics and of the Manila International Airport. He died on Oct. 28, 1971 at the age of 56.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
