Close to 2,000 cops to ensure order in Manila—report

MANILA, Philippines – Close to 2,000 Manila policemen were deployed around the city ensure peace and order in anticipation of the rallies that are expected to break out during President Benigno Aquino III’s State of the Nation Address later on Monday, 990AM report said.

The report said the law enforcers were sent to secure Malacañang, the US Embassy, Supreme Court, the Pandacan oil depot, among others.

The report said that the policemen would be exercising maximum tolerance in dealing with the protesters.
