2 men nabbed for wire theft

TWO men were arrested for allegedly stealing cable wires of a telecommunications tower in barangay Cubacub, Mandaue City.

Police said Roldan Montederamos, 34, and Jhupel Morales, 27, of Mandaue, were caught in the act stealing Sun Celullar cable wires past 1 a.m. last Wednesday.

Julius Arevalo, 48, the tower caretaker, said he was awakened by the sound of wires being dragged. When he checked the tower, he saw two men removing the cable wire.

Arevalo ran to the Cubacub barangay hall to report the theft.

Barangay public safety officers then contacted the Basak police who went to the area and caught the two men red-handed.
