Cebu City jail inmate found dead in cell
An inmate at the Cebu City Jail in barangay Kalunasan was found dead in his cell for reasons still unclear yesterday morning.
The body of Francis Obiso, 31, will be autopsied to find out the cause of death, said Supt. Johnson Calub, Cebu City Jail warden.
Police said that around 6:30 p.m. last Tuesday, Obiso was seen vomiting in his cell.
He was brought to the clinic where his vital signs were checked. He was made to breathe with the aid of an oxygen tank before he was returned to his cell around 9 p.m.
Calub said they chose not to bring Obiso to the hospital since his condition improved and bringing him to a hospital would need a court order.
The inmate was noticed missing during a head count at 6 a.m. yesterday.
