CASINO THEFT SUSPECT MOVED
THE internal security Officer of the Philippine Amusement Gaming Corp. who stole P2.8 million from the satellite casino in Parkmall, Mandaue City was transferred to the city jail yesterday.
Pascual Urian Jr. was transferred after a warrant of arrest for qualified theft was issued against him on Tuesday, said Chief Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes.
Urian was presented to Regional Trial Court Judge Judge Estela Almasinco of Branch 55, who signed the commitment order.
Urian surrendered last August 9 to police in Panay town in Capiz and turned over P1,485,500 left over from the P2.8 loot.
He said he was convinced by family members to give himself up. The Pagcor employee said he was pressured to steal from the casino vault because of debts that had piled up due to his vice, online gambling. /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
