Bernido, Lee win in La Salle run

IAN BERNIDO and Joeyry Lee ruled  the 12-kilometer run of the De La Salle Andres Soriano Memorial College’s “Animo La Salle-Run” held at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) in Mandaue City yesterday.

Bernido clocked 41 minutes and 24 seconds to claim the top spot in the men’s 12k run while Lee ended a long drought by clocking 51 minutes and 23 seconds to rule the distaff side.

In the 6k race, Joel Delposo and Jorry Ycong engaged in a close battle to the finish line with the former winning by just one second. His official time was 20:10. Aiza Suaybaguio topped the women’s 6k  with a time of 25:03.

Jerry Laruya and Prosy Sosas ruled the 3k fun run with times of 10:26 and 20:01, respectively.

Around 500 runners joined the race, most of them from various alumni associations of the school. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
