Tabal, Dueñas continue winning races together

Mary Joy Tabal and John Philip Dueñas once again showed their dominance on the road as they emerged victorious in the 15-kilometer category of the Alphonsian Run yesterday at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall.

Tabal topped the women’s race with a time of 01:01:18 while her coach Duneñas clocked 51:52 to win in the men’s side.

Arnold Onabia trailed Dueñas for second spot with a time of 51:57 followed by Adonis Singson (52:41).

Christy Tutor failed to beat Tabal anew as she settled for second place with a time of 01:06:36. Jhean Andrin placed third with a time of 01:10:02.

Around 2,000 runners, more than half from the St. Alphonsus Catholic School of Lapu-Lapu, joined the race organized by the Alumni Association of high school batch ’87.

In the 6k category, Joebert Carolino and Jojielyn Pepito emerged on top. Carolino clocked 18:29 in the men’s race while Pepito logged a 22:38 in the distaff side.

Winners in the 3k category were siblings Ronnie and Cherry Andrin, who clocked 09:48 and 11:54, respectively.
