18 hurt in Quezon road accident
LUCENA CITY, Philippines – Eighteen people were injured when a Manila-bound passenger bus from Bicol lost its brakes while descending the zigzag diversion road in Pagbilao, Quezon early morning Monday, police said.
Chief Inspector Arvin de Asis, Pagbilao police chief, said a Philtranco bus (EVJ-973) was negotiating a sharp curve in Barangay Silangang Malicboy at around 4 a.m. when the vehicle lost its brakes, causing the driver to lost control of the bus.
The wayward bus skidded and eventually fell down on its left side hurting 18 of its passengers, said De Asis, quoting a town police spot report on the incident.
The injured were brought to the Jane County hospital at the town proper for treatment, de Asis said.
