MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Monday said it suspended for 30 days the operation of a UV Express involved in a road crash incident in Cubao, Quezon City.

According to the LTFRB, the suspension came after a show-cause order was issued to the transport cooperative, which was summoned to explain why its franchise should not be suspended or canceled over the incident, as well as why the driver should not be found liable for reckless driving.

“We want to know if this has something to do with the road worthiness of the motor vehicle or if the driver is at fault. We will find out at the course of the investigation,” said LTFRB chair Vigor Mendoza II in a statement.

The LTFRB said it ordered the operator to submit all its maintenance records of the involved vehicles and subject the driver to drug test and road safety seminar.
