BAGUIO CITY, Philippines —The temperature in this city dropped to 9ºC, the coldest recorded so far this year.
According to authorities, the unusually low temperature, which was logged at 5 a.m., was caused by prevailing cold winds and seasonal weather patterns, bringing a noticeable chill, especially during the early morning hours.
Residents were advised to take precautions against the cold.
