Inmate hurt in jump

/ 12:11 PM June 17, 2012

AN inmate of the Cebu City Jail in barangay Kalunasan  was injured after he jumped from the fourth floor of the facility on Friday afternoon.

The inmate broke his teeth.  He avoided severe injuries after he landed  on a fishnet barrier before hitting the ground. The nets were installed to prevent outsiders from throwing illegal drugs into the facility.

The inmate was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center. Personal problems may have triggered the man to try to kill himself, said Supt. Johnson Calub, Cebu City jail warden.

The inmate was visited by his girlfriend last June 3.  The inmate was in jail since last year on drug charges./CHITO O. ARAGON
