Guioguio, Superal lead cast in Southern Ladies Open golf tournament
Reigning Philippine amateur champion and Bukidnon-native Lovelynn Guioguio and Philippine Ladies Open runner-up Princess Superal spice up the field that will compete in the Southern Ladies Open golf tournament, which tees off tomorrow at the Cebu Country Club in Banilad.
Guioguio and Superal banner the four-player list from the powerhouse ICTSI-backed squad that includes Hong Kong Amateur Open winner Jayvie Agojo and Sarah Ababa, who will be slugging it out with the likes of Rainstar Roque, Eva Minoza, Apple Fudolin and Ping Jarales from Del Monte and Riviera’s Seo Yon Kwon and Jan Punzalan for top honors in the centerpiece Championship Division.
But equally interesting is the competition in the other groups, including Classes A, B, C and D where the leading players of Tagaytay Highlands and Midlands, Sta. Elena, Forest Hills, Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club, Alta Vista, Mactan Island, Del Monte, Pueblo de Oro, Davao Golf, Orchard, Riviera, Wack Wack, and host Cebu Country Club are seeing action.
The local bets are also expected to figure well in the 54-hole tournament, owing to their familiarity with the flat but tight layout in Banilad.
They include Hannah Wong, Ryojo Nacal, Jungja Bae, Lalay Lava, Eva Hino, Conchita Van Gelder, Lucile Colina, Yukiko Ushioda, Mercy Bejar, Flor Streegan, Mila Chan and Annie Libi.
Scoring will be based on Molave points system.
