Amigos bag 13-under crown

TEAM AMIGOS steamrolled through the rest of the field as they went undefeated en route to capturing the championship in the under-13 division of the 3on3 Basketball Madness at Insular Square in Mandaue City.

Team Amigos, a mix of players from the Central Visayas Grade School basketball that played at the recent Palarong Pambansa, swept the elimination 5-0 (win-loss) then bucked a slow start before defeating an upset-seeking Team Enad/Callelero, 27-17, in the semifinals.

They formalized their title run with a 25-11 win over Siknoy Noodles House in the finals.

In the Under 12/Born 2000 division, Ateneo 1 bagged the championship as they romped over their opponents and recorded a 4-0 slate in the elimination round.

They defeated Ateneo 2, 15-7 in the semifinals before topping USJR-A, 24-19 in the championship game.

The Under 9/Born 2003 division was dominated by Power Play-Pereas.

After a 4-0 sweep in the eliminations, they dumped USJR-B, 32-6 in the semifinals and sister team Power Play-Pasibog, 22-13 in the finals.  USJR won the Under 8/Born 2004 division by going 3-1 in the elimination round. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
