Magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolts Gen. Nakar, Quezon

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.6 earthquake shook General Nakar, Quezon, on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

It was earlier reported as a magnitude 5.1 earthquake.

The earthquake struck at  12:17 p.m., with the epicenter located 24 kilometers (km) northwest of General Nakar.

Phivolcs said it was tectonic in origin with a depth of focus of 11 kilometers.

Phivolcs said the earthquake was measured from Intensity I to Intensity IV in other parts of Luzon.
